Dr. Kenealy’s Englishman says :—“ Lot the people of England bear this in mind, that if we had sent 50,000 soldiers to Constantinople, with a fleet, twelve months ago, there would have been no Eussian war ; .that, being there, we could have easily induced the Sultan by fair means to do willingly what the Czar now forces him to do—after the sacrifice of 200,000 precious lives ; that' the Turkish Empire is destroyed, and that Constantinople, the key of Europe, is now virtually the Emperor’s ; that Egypt goes with Turkey, and that the days of the' Suez Canal are numbered ; that the whole of India will rebel and reject us, and that the next phase will be a joint Russian and Grenhah blockade and occupation of England. These are not pleasant prophecies, but every one of them will come to pass before many years are over our heads.” The Ballarat Miner of the 19th April says; —A telephonic seance is announced to be held on Friday evening between the Eastern and Western Fire Brigade stations. The entertainment is being got up by Mr. John Palmer, who intends having eight instruments at each station. ' The largest theatre in the world, and that in which the greatest scope for exhibing real sterling worth, is to be found with the vast multitude of the sick and suffering of the human race. The spplause awarded the proprietor of "Gholiau’s Great Inman Cukks" from all parts of this promising Colony of New Zealand,- lor the extraordinary performances of raising the sick from' their beds of languishing, and restoring them'to health, is immense.
