. Tuesday, May 7. (Before J. O. Crawford, Esq., R.M.) ' q ' DRUNKENNESS. William J ones and Henry Phillips were each fined ss. and 20s. respectively, with the usual alternatives, for drunkenness. BREACHES OF CITY BY-LAWS. John Mahgin was summoned by by Inspector Johnston for obstructing the thoroughfare in Manners-street with a load of timber. As defendant admitted the offence, but stated that the obstruction was an accident, the case was dismissed. William Henry Pasooe was summoned by the same officer for creating a nuisance by keeping pigs. A person named Overton appeared for the defendant, and admitted the charge. The Inspector of Nuisances said that only a mouth ago he called on the defendant and requested him to get rid of the nuisance. His Worship fined the defendant 20a. and costs, but cautioned him if he was again summoned for the same offence the heaviest penalty, £5, would be inflicted.
