She has fifty-six tuns sperm oil.
The Jane Donglas left Foxton at 12 o’clock yesterflsy, and arrived in port at 10 o'clock last night. The brigantine F. W. Tucker -will go round to the Patent Slip to-day to have her bottom cleaned, &c. Prom there she proceeds direct to Grafton and Clarence River, to load with timber for this port. The Taiaroa from the North will be here to-day, and will sail again at 3 p.m. for f.yttelton only. Xhes.s. Hinemoaleft Kelson for Picton yesterday morning. The s.s. Alhambra left Kelson at 10.45 a.m. yesterday morning, and arrived here at 9 o’clock last evening. Experienced fresh S.E. winds and fine weather through the Strait. The Alhambra will sail for Melbourne via the South at noon to-day. The p s. Manawatu arrived here from Wanganui on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock, with a cargo of tallow, She left Wanganui at half-past 8 o’clock the previous night, and had fine weather down. The Manawatu sailed again for Wanganui at 5 o’clock last evening. The s.s. Napie-arrived here at 1.30 p.m. on Thursday from Blenheim, and sailed again for the same port at 9 o’clock that night with a cargo of coal. A large number of sailing vessels have left this port since Thursday for various ports of the colony, whose names will be found elsewhere. By an error in Thursday’s issue, amongst Ih 3 vessels that “ cleared out," the name of Captain Creagh was placed as master of the Reliance, and that of Captain Swede as master of the Cynthia. They should have read vice versa.
The s.s. Tui arrived here from the South at 12 o’clock last night. - On the way up she called at Wafpaptf, and landed there a quantity of salmon ova’ from Christchurch.
The s.B. Stormbird arrived here from Wanganui ,at 11 o’clock yesterday forenoon with a cargo consisting of grass seed, potatoes,. skins, and several packages sundries. She left Wanganui at 10 o’clock the previous night, and experienced fine weather down. Reports speaking the barque Olivia Davis, from this port bound to Newcastle, off Kapiti, The s.s. Taranaki arrived here from Southern ports at 10 o’clock yesterday morning with cargo and passengers. She left Port Chalmers ,at 1.30 pm. on Wednesday last, and arrived at Lyttelton at 8.30 a.m,. on Tuesday; sailed again at 4 p.m. same day, and arrived here as above stated. Experienced fine weather throughout. The Taranaki, after landing her cargo and shipping a quantity, principally from the Rotorua from Sydney, left for Kelson, Taranaki, and the Manukau shortly after 8 o’clock last night. The s.s. Rotorua arrived in port yesterday morning at 9.15 o'clock from Sydney, via Napier and Auckland, She cleared Sydney Heads at 6 p.m. on the 10th inst., and shortly after a heavy gale from the S.E. sprang up, accompanied by a heavy sea, which lasted for three days, followed by southerly wind and a high confused sea. Passed the Three Kings on Sunday evening last at half-past 7 o'clock, and arrived at Auckland at 4 o’clock the following day after a smart passage of 4 days 22 hours, although, as will be seen, she encountered contrary weather the whole way down, and particularly for the first three days. After discharging cargo, at Auckland, she left there on the 16th at 5 p.m., and arrived at Napier at 0.30 a.m. on the 18th; left again at noon same day, and arrived here as above stated. Experienced strong S. W. winds from Napier. The Rotorua entered at the Customs, discharged cargo, and sailed for Southern ports at 4 o’clock In the afternoon with a large number of passengers. ' The s s. Alhambra arrived here from Melbourne via the South at 10 a.m. on Thursday with 115 tons cargo and a number of passengers. She left Melbourne at 2.45 p.m. on the 6th instant, and arrived at the Bluff at 4.30 p.m. on the 12th ; loft at 2.25 p.m. on the 13th, and arrlvedat Port Chalmers at 0 a.m. on the 14th; left at 3.30 p.m. on the 15th, and arrived at Lyttelton at 2.45p.m. on thelCth; left at 1.45p.m. on thel7tb, and arrived in harbor as above stated. Experienced fresh head winds from Melbourne until the 11th, thence strong westerly, which increased to a heavy gale, accompanied by high seas, with thick and rainy weather, to Port Chalmers, then fresh head wind to arrival. The Alhambra sailed for Nelson at 0 o’clock on Thursday evening.
