Queensland is applying to take part, believing the result to be a foregone conclusion in favor of the duplication o the present route.. The frequent interruptions on the South Australian land line have directly called attention to the necessity for a duplicate laud line. . The Australian Eleven have played their final match in the colonies, and they proceed to San Francisco by the outgoing steamer. The Old Colonists’ Association wish to give up them homes, as only poor inmates have ever been maintained there, and the expenses are more than equal to the revenue. "Wheat is improved, selling at ss. J fine New Zealand milling oats, ss. The departure of the Chimborazo from Sydney is indefinitely postponed. It is believed that the repairs will occupy at least three months. The Japanese war vessel will probably remain at Sydney a month. At Adelaide there have been very heavy rains, and great floods occurred in the north in some places. The elections in Adelaide are proceeding very quietly, and it is believed most of the old members will be re-elected. At Tasmania fresh discoveries of tin have been made. The ore is of a valuable character, and expected to rival that of Mount Bischoff.
