INTERPROVINCIAL CRICKET MATCH.
(PEE press agency.) Dunedin, Thursday; The cricket match, Canterbury v. Otago, commenced at noon. Only about SOO people were present. The weather was fine. Canterbury went to the wickets, and up to 2 p.m. played capitally. Four wickets were then down for 70 runs. The innings ended for 211 runs. There were only two duck’s-eggs. Moore made a beautiful innings of 75, W. Frith 51, Austen 23, Stevens 15, Hartland and Fowler 11 each, Godby 8, and Neilsou 7. Moore’s hard back play and free hitting were greatly admired. Only t were bowk-d out, the others being either caught or run out. There was great cheering for the Christchurch team by the few people present. The Otago men went in late in the afternoon, and played wretchedly. Wickets went down rapidly. When the stumps were drawn six wickets had fallen for 53, the only score of note being 15 made by Paramour. Clark and Spring were at the wickets when time was called.
