Biiigarooma. Lyttelton boat. Crow—Bow, Carter ; 2, T, Harkess; 3, W. T. Taylor; stroke, M. Miller : cox., C. Miller. Color, white.. .. 1 Avawata, AV.B.C.Crow—Bow, AValker; 2, McGrath; 3, Hearn ; stroke, Woods : cox., Nixon. Color, pink 2 Start at 12.27.55. Both boats got array together, the Wellington pulling a very fast aud ahortstrnke,and the Ringarooma alongoue. A slight foul occurred just before getting out from the breakwater. On nearing the Baker’s Bay buoy the Ringarooma was some five lengths ahead, but the AraAvata shot in aud rounded the buoy first. Here another foul occurred, the Arawata closing in on the Bingarooma too closely. The Ringarooma got aAvay again, hotly pursued by the Arawata, avlio ■went for the smoother Avater, the coxswain steering Avideiy. The Ringarooma rode over the broken water the best, the AraAvata jumping too much. On entering the breakwater the Ringarooma had the race, and on passing

the flagship was a boat’s length ahead. The Ringarooma kept her lead round the last buoy, the Arawata not being able to catch her. The Ringarooma passed the winning post at 12.44.50, ten seconds ahead, of the Arawata.
