MR. BRIGHT’S LECTURES.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sin, —Kindly allow me, as a resident of Wellington, through your valuable paper to express a hope that not many of our community may be gulled by the charmer, charm he ever so wisely ; and although no opportxinity was afforded last evening, the writer feels prepared to meet him and contend for the faith once delivered to the saints; and as Mr. Bright, as a sort of founder here of his new sect, seems to denounce all other sects as being at variance, of course with his views, I tin prepared to take my stand alongside of any one minister of these particular sects he objects to, or, if he likes, one of our Roman Catholic priests, with a Douav Bible, against this self-constituted Goliath, who “ defies the armies of the Living God or lam prepared to stand alone—and yet net alone —against him ; and will only take the Scriptures, but will object to his having any notes, only whatever books he likes, I am, &c., Henry Walton, Glen Cragio.
