A shocking fatality attended a balloon ascent on October 20, at the village of Carlton, near Worksop, Nottingham. There was a travelling circus in the place, and in' the latter part of the day a balloon ascent was attempted by a man named Morton. By some means or other, however, the balloon capsized, and, falling from a groat height, the unfortunate man was dashed to the ground, and received such terrible injuries that he died almost immediately.
