Vcrv little business beyond retail wants has been done during the past week, the greater portion having been absorbed by the holidays. Wo report no change in quotations calling for special comment. > Adelaide flour lias been advanced 10s. per ton; but in the face of largo stocks and low markets in England, we see no reason to justify any expectation of higher rates here; on the contrary, every tendency appears to lead to an opposite conclusion. In colonial produce there has been no change from last week’s quotations, with the exception of oats, which have hardened, and are now worth 4s to 4s 2d per bushel, for prime samples. The amount of Customs revenue collected at the port of Wellington during the past six months amounted to £90.475 17s 2d, as compared with £81,390 19s 2d collected during the corresponding period of 1870. BY TELEGRAPH. AUCKLAND. Friday. Mr. Buckland reports Fat catttle have advanced 2s. per lOOlbs, realising 27s to 29s ; fat lambs, 11s to 15s; fat sheep steady at 21s 4d to 23s 4d. DUNEDIN, Friday. Mr. Bradshaw reports as followsßank of New Zealand, £23; Colonial Bank, 50s; National Insurance, 30s to 31s: Standard, old issue, 235: new, 21s; Union Insurance, 10s (id; New Zealand Insurance, £4 15s; New Zealand Shipping. 755; Union Steam Co, £7; Greyraouth Coal Co, 455. The late rains have greatly improved the appearance of the crops, and there is every prospect of fair yields. Wheat ranges from 3s Cd to ss; old oats, 3s ed to 3s 9d: barley, Ss 0d to 5s 8d: flour, £l4los to £ls 10s; bran. £4 10; sharps, £5 10s : butter, 8d; cheese, 7d; hams and bacon, Sd. Business Is quiet. OAMAEU. Friday. Business in grain and breadstuffs continues dull. Wheat, 4s to 4s 6d : oats. 3s to 3s Od ; barley, none ; flour, £l4 to £l4 10s. f.0.b.: oatmeal, 17: pearl barley (per ton of 22401b5), £2O ; pollard, £5 10s ; bran, £3 10s. During the past few days we had a welcome fall of rain,* which greatly improved the crops. Farmers now confidently anticipate somewhat better than an average yield in all cereals. NEW PLYMOUTH, Friday. At Courtney’s cattle sale yesterday a number of Auckland cattle were sold, but brought indifferent prices. Yearlings, £2 17s 6d; store cows. £4 to £5 ss. Local cattle fetched better rates. Heifers near calving, £7 2s 6d to £7 10s: milch cows, £6 10s to £9 ; cows at calving, £9 15s; store ewes. 7s; lambs, 3s to ss.
