Arrived : Renfrewshire, emigrant ship, from London. Five deaths occurred during the voyage, the last being from scarlatina. The vessel has been quarantined. This is unfortunate, as there is a great demand for single girls and single men. Sailed: Langstone, ship, last evening, for London, with a full cargo of wool and skins. LYTTELTON, Friday. Arrived: The Opawa. She left Plymouth on September 27, and crossed the Equator on October 31. Passed Tasmania on December 20, and made the Snares on the 20th. arriving last night. She had very fine weather and light winds throughout the passage. In running down her easting she was driven to 63deg S by N.E winds. She brings eleven saloon passengers and 200 immigrants all well. Three deaths of children occurred during the passage. Sailed : JUG. Hawea for North ; Lily for Chatham Islands, and Spray for Wanganui. The Government steamer Stella, Captain MeKersic, arrived in port yesterday afternoon from a lighthouse cruise in the South Island. After leaving this port she went down to Lyttelton, took in cement, and then went on to Moeraki. where some lighthouse people ■were taken on board. From there proceeded to Dunedin, and shipped a quantity of lighthouse material, and also tho lantern for the lighthouse in course of erection In Preservation Inlet. Thence the Stella proceeded to the Nuggets, Dog Island, the Bluff, Preservation Inlet, and Dusky Sound, landing stores, shifting keepers, at these places. From the latter place she went to Centro Island ; thence to the Bluff, Dog Island, tit© Nuggets, Taiaroa Heads, and then up to Fort Chalmers. She loft the latter place at 8 p.ra. on Wednesday last, and arrived in this port as above stated. The Stella will next go on the Slip to be cleaned, Ac. The ketch Falcon arrived in port from Patca yesterday afternoon. She left there at D a.m. on Thursday, but on getting as far as Cook Rock a southerly gale came on, and she went back to Pelorns Sound for shelter. Started again yesterday morning, and arrived as above.' The s ». St. KUda arrived in port at 11.80 a.m. yesterday, after a very rough trip from Wanganui. She waa compelled to anchor under Kapiti fox six hours. The St. Kllda left for tho Soutli yesterday evening. The steamers Manavratu for Wanganui and Jane Douglas for Foxton sailed yesterday afternoon. - The as. Taranaki arrived in harbor at 8 15 yesterday morning from the North. She left Manukau at 5 15 p.m. on tho Ist. and arrived off Taranaki at 7.80 a!m. on the 2nd ; left again at 1 p.ra. same day, and arrived at Nelson at G a.m. on the 3rd; left again at 0 30 p rn. same day, and arrived in Picton at 1.15 a.m. on the 4th ; left at 2.45 a.m., and arrived as above. Kbe sailed for the South yesterday afternoon.

The s.s. Tanpoftom the South arrlyed in port yesterday at 10.30 a.m. She left Port Chalmers on the Ist instant, arrived in Lyttelton next day, sailed at 5,15p.m., and arrivedhere asabove. The Taupo will go to Auckland via the East Coast this morning. Stormbird, Captain Doilo, left Wanganui wharf atO o’clock on Thursday evening, and arrived at Wellington at 9 p.m on Friday evening Having got as far as the Wanganui Heads, Captain Dralo finding a very heavy sea on the bar, decided to anchor till the weather moderated. At 9 a.m. on Inday made another start, arriving as above, having met with a fresh westerly wind and flue weather on tue passage down, Passed the s.s. Jane Douglas off Terawiti, also the p.s. Manawatu off Sinclair Head. The ship Zealandia got under way for London yesterday forenoon with a fair wind and rounded HalsweU Point at 11 a.m., and passed through the Heads an hour afterwards. The Zealandia will be closely followed by the Wairoa, as that vessel is expected to leave to-day, and a close race Home between the two clippers may be expected. The schooner Ruby ran hack to port from Te Kopi yesterday morning, having sustained the loss of an anchor and chain, and also her boat smashed through a heavy southerly “ buster" coming on. _ The letch Agnes from Patea arrived in port yesterday evening. , ________
