In an article condemnatory of present telegraphic arrangements with Europe, the Melbourne Age gives the following catalogue of interruptions in the present cable communication ; OVERLAND LINE. June 11 to June 13, period of two days. July 11 to July 12, one day. August 4 to August 7, three days. August 20 to August 21, one day. October 9 to October 10, one day. October 15 to October 18, three days. November 6 to November 11, five days. November 12 to November 14, two days. SUBMARINE CABLE. Singapore’Penang section, July 16 to July 23, steamer repairing, seven days. Penang Rangoon section, September 10. Batavia Singapore section, September 16 to September 25, intermittent break, ten days. Batavia Singapore section, September 26 to October 13, total break, seventeen days. Batavia Singapore section, October 15 to October 17, steamer repairing, two days. Penang Singapore section, October 22 to October 31, total break, nine days. Port Darwin Java section, November S r total break. Making in all seventy two days since June —a period when an account of European events has been looked for with interest, apart frow the business arrangemements that must necessarily have suffered.
