THEATRE ROYAL.
There was a very good attendance at the Theatre Royal on Saturday evening, when “ Marie Stuart, Queen of Scotland,” an historical play illustrative of the life and times of the unfortunate Queen, whose career forms a striking feature iu the aunals of the mother country, was produced. The piece, as it must necessarily be if true to nature, is emotional and melancholy ; but in the hands of Signora Majeroni, who played the leading character, it can hardly be said to have been tedious. Her performance of the part of Queen Mary was an admirable piece of acting, especially in the closing or “ execution ” scene, and was deservedly applauded. The stock company were as usual well up iu their parts. Tonight the “ Old Corporal ” will be repeated, and we expect to see another full house. The stay of the Majeronis in Wellington is drawing to a conclusion, and lovers of the legitimate drama should not lose the opportunity of witnessing the farewell performances of these talented artists. ,
