The natives are much interested in the experiment. Gkahamstown, Friday. A telegram has been received by the Chairman of the County to the effect that the Government deemed it desirable to revert to the former arrangement in the matter of the mining inspector, and that Uaptain Goldsmith will be re-appointed from the Ist of December, and also asking Mr. Aiken to resign that office. The telegram is from J. Giles, Undersecretary. The proposal gives dissatisfaction. The Star and Advertiser condemn it. Napier, Friday. The witnesses admitted that the master withdrew all Boman Catholic children from the Bible classes when requested to do so by the parents or guardians of the children. The discipline of the school had not been unduly severe, and the time which had elapsed since the alleged cases occurred till they were complained of, coupled with the admission of the Bev. Father Binsfield, warranted the Board in concluding that the charges had been made without due consideration and for political purposes.
