All hands remained on board, with a lady nassenger, a Mrs. Kigney, from Sale, until daylight the next morning, when Captain Me.Upine and the engineer succeeded in getting ashore and securing a boat belonging to the Maffra. which was lying at the entrance, and returned to the steamer and took off four of the crew and the lady passenger. The steamer was fast breaking up when the crew abandoned her at half-past 5 next morning, and nothing was saved belonging to the vessel or the crew.
