Monday, November 12. (Before C. C. Graham, Esq., J.P., and J. E. Smith, Esq., J.P.) VAGRAHOY. Mary Lazary, who has frequently undergone terms of imprisonment for vagrancy, was again sent to gaol for a month. DRUNK AND DISORDER:,Y. James Webb, against whom several previous convictions have been recorded, was fined 20a,, or in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. ASSAULTS. Charles Armstrong was fined 10s., or in default 48 hours, for assaulting William Gibbs, a groom at the New Zealander Hotel. Edward Hughes was again brought up on remand, charged with assault. Mr. Buckley appeared for the defendant. On the application of Sergeant Smith, Hughes was further remanded for a week, hail being allowed in one surety of £SO, and the defendant himself in £so.' ATTEMPTED RESCUE. Charles West was charged with having interfered with the police in the execution of their duty. Mr. Gordon Allan defended. Constable Buchanan stated that the accused had attempted to rescue a man who was in custody of witness and Constable Smart for drunkenness. The accused stated he was only endeavoring to take the man home. Fined 205., or in default 48 hours’ imprisonment. A second charge against West, of tearing Constable Wagland’s uniform, was withdrawn.

Louis Milanto was charged with having stolen a net, the property of George Nicholas, Both parties are fishermen, and the charge turned out to he one simply of disputed ownership of the net in question. The case was dismissed.
