Monday. .South British Insurance half-yearly meeting.—The report showed that the fire and marine premiums amounted to £53.441, interest, £4389 ; transfer fees, £33105; increased value of investments, £1080; balance from last half year, £10,902 ; total, £75.512 ; fire and marine losses paid and outstanding, £3C,655; reinsurances and other expenses, £19,503 ; balance of profit, £15,459. Heavy losses Ocean Mail and Queen Bee rendered this half year less profitable than last. Dividend 15 per cent. paid. Be-insurances amounted to £BOO9.
