SCS 2 0 Total £2902 14 8 'There has been very little doing In the import trade during the past week, and dulnoss has prevailed throughout the city in almost every branch- Candles are a. little easier, but the changes in quotations are too trifling to require much comment, and as stocks of all classes of goods continue heavy, with a general desire to reduce them, prices are greatly in favor of buyers. The Primera is loaded for London, and sails
on the Sth, with cargo of wool, tallow, &c., valued at £32,909. In colonial produce, although a large amount of business is doing, prices, owing to the same cause, continue very unsatisfactory, and ns large parcels are continually being received from the Southern ports, there is small chance of improved rates. Every article enumerated below is either in full supply or overstocked and difficult to move off at market value. Keg butter of prime cure cannot, obtain higher than Sd to per lb ; cheese, 7d; bacon and hams, 8d to 9*d per lb. Holders of flour have accepted lower rates, and although quotations for ,best Canterbury and Oamaru mills are nominally £lB per ton, much under that flgure has been accepted to clear a parcol. Oats remain dull at 3s lOd to 4s; fowl wheat, 4s 6d ; maize, 4s to 4s Cd per bushel. ■ Mr. G Thomas reports produce prices as follows: Colonial flour, £lB to £1810s; Adelaide do, £23 10s; oats. Ss lOd to 4s; bran, Is; wheat, 4s 6d: pollard, 7s Cd; maize, 4s6d; potatoes, £3; hams,Old; bacon, Sid; cheese, 7d.
