Expereinced strong southerly wind, with confused sea, across. Reports passing the schooner Young,Dick running through the Strait, bound from Lyttelton to Hobarton. The Kapler will sail for Blenheim this afternoon. . , , , , The Kennedy sailed at 0 o'clock yesterday morning for Nelson and "West Coast ports. The ship Glenlyon has cleared out for Valparaiso, and will sail with the first favorable breeze. Tenders are invited for the purchase of the steamer Osprey ketch Falcon, and cutter Dido. Particulars can be had. at Messrs. "W. andG. Tumbull and Co. s. The Jane Douglas did not get into port from Fpxton till 4 am. yesterday. She left Foxton at 12.30 p.m. on Thursday, but on arrival off the Heads at half-past nine o'clock same night she was unable to pick up Pencarrow light, owing to the very thick weather, till yesterday morning. The Jane Douglas sailed again for Foxton at 9.30 p.m. yesterday, with a full cargo. Dr. Bradford left in the Kennedy yesterday for The Brothers, where, as we mentioned in yesterday's issue, surgical aid was required. 1 _ The s.s. "Wakatipu sailed for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers at 3.30p.m. yesterday. . The s.s. Kiwi has cleared out for Flaxbourne, and will sail to-day. . The Jane Douglas towed the ship Taranaki round, to Evans Bay yesterday evening at 6 o'clock. The Taranaki will be taken up on the Patent Slip to-day tn have her bottom cleaned, and as she i.s undoubtedly one of the prettiest models of a ship that has visited this port, she will to those interested in marine architecture be well worth seeing out of the water. The Jane Douglas in coming back again to the wharf took the Bangatira in tow, which was launched off the Slip yesterday, and towed her round to the breastTh'e Eingarooma, Captain 'Whitburn, arrived in port from Nelson at half-past 10 last night, having left ihere at 1.35. Experienced light head winds and fine weather across.—The Ringarooma will leave for Melbourde via the South this afternoon. The Tui will sail for Foxton this afternoon. The ketch Prospect arrived in Nelson on "Wednesday last, with a full cargo of wines, spirits, merchandise, etc,, recovered, from the wrecked ship Queen Bee at Cape Farewell Spit, and the cutter Dauntless arrived there next day with another full load. Two other vessels were at the wreck, getting cargoes.
