MASQUE BALL.

The masque ball at the new Princess Theatre, Tory-street (got up by Messrs. Boyd and Co.), was a great success. The spacious room is admirably adapted for dancing, and presented last night a truly gay and animated appearance. About 150 couples were present, who all appeared to enjoy themselves thoroughly. The band, under the conduotorship of Mr. Spiller, supplied excellent music throughout. The dresses worn on the occasion were striking and varied, and in many instances of most costly material and skilful make. The exterior of the new theatre is neat and appropriate, without much ornamentation ; but the interior is handsomely fitted up and decorated. The stage furniture is very complete, and there is an abundance of well - executed scenery. White and pale blue, intermixed with gilding, are the prevailing colors of the decorations, and when brilliantly lighted up, as it was last night, has a charming effect. All who were present at last night’s ball appeared highly pleased with the theatre itself as well as with the entertainment provided within its walls. We hope on a future occasion to see another of these lively and pleasant social gatherings, and that it may be as successful as that of last evening.
