Moderate business doing in the import trade, and confined to actual wants, prices remaining with very Jittlo variation, about the same as reported last week. Currants are low in stock, and have advanced to 4;jd and 5d per lb. Sperm candles are also found to be in less supply than was thought, and are now firmly held for lid. Sugars in fair supply, and firm at former rates. in colonial produce, the principal change has been n flour, and late telegrams quote best brands of Canterbury and Oamaru mills at £l6 10s. f.o.b, at port of shipment. Holders here quote £l6los to£l7 per ton, but of necessity a further advance must be looked for to cover freight and charges. Grain—Oats are in full supply at 3s to 3s 2d per bushel. Keg butter, no demand ; holders asking 9d to lOd for prime cure. Bacon and hams, overstocked, at 9d to lOd per lb. Cheese, do, at Sd to 9d per lb. BY TRtltnilAVli CHRISTCHURCH, Friday.
