As a matter of course our account of what took place at the meeting of the City Council, when the plans for a Town Hall were decided upon, has been questioned by those whose motives would lead them to question the " Gospels" if sufficient inducement offered. Motives have also been ascribed to us by persons who are ready to become the mouthpieces of anyone who may differ from us. The affair does not matter much. The whole subject will doubtless he settled authoritatively at the next meeting of the City Council, when our statements as to what happened at the special meeting will be found to be literally correct.
