RIFLE SHOOTING.
A rifle match was fired at - Wainuiomata yesterday between eight representatives of the Kaiwarra rifles an equal numbers of . the ■Wainuiomata rifles, the result being a dreadful ‘beating for. the former. The weather was fine,'but there was a little unpleasant wind. The Waimri men all. shot well, B. Pronse 1 'making 73 Out of a possible 84. : The visitors ■ were'treated, very kindly, and Captain Thomson, on behalf of the Kaiwarra team, aoknow- ' ■ ledged the courtesy shown them. The ranges ‘ ' "zoo yards, and the ordinary size at the other ’ .ranges. The scores were as follows ;
