CRICKET.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sib, —-I believe that the selection committee for the All-England match are anxious to do iheir best for Wellington, so perhaps they would kingly condescend to look at the team that I have chosen Wanganui : Cross, Farrington. Marton ; Anson, Jacobs. Wairarapa; Kaye, Hood, W- J. Salmon. Hutt : Mason, Lockett. Town : Ahnitage, Garwood, I. ■J. Salmon, J. A. Salmon, Bryce, Blacklock, Edmonds, Mace, Koley, Horwood, Knapp, Kennedy, Russell; emergency, Speed, Evaqs, McKenzie, Barton, Tancred, Fordhain. ' ; ' I have given six emergency men, in case the four from Wanganui and Marton are not able to play.. Speed is a good longstop, and would be wanted in . a three-days” match, as well as Russell. Evans .is a good all-round man; Barton an excellent field. McKenzie has been playing carefully. My reason for troubling you is that I have heard a rumor that the selection committee have obtained assistance from a gentleman who was anxious to be on the committee himself ; and as I do not like the idea of one-sided help, I send them my ideas on the subject publicly.—l am, &c.,Thorndon,
