PATENT for an Invention for the Use and Application of Wire Suspension Tramways for Loading and Discharging Vessels in Roadsteads, and for works connected with mining and dredging and reclaiming land, and generally for conveying material of any description from the scene of operations to the place of destination required, with self-acting buckets and appliances as may be required according to circumstances and the particular work to be done. This is to notify that JOHN ALVES, Contractor, and HENRY HO WORTH, Gentleman, both of Dunedin, in the colony of New Zealand, did on the fifteenth day of January instant deposit at the office of the Patent Officer,in the Colonial Secretary’s Office in Wellington, a specification or instrument in writing under their hands and seals, particularly describing and ascertaining the nature of the said Invention, and in what manner the same is to be performed ; and that, by reason of such deposit, the said Invention is protected and secured to them exclusively for the term of six calendar months thence next ensuing. And, I do further notify that the said John Alves and Henry Howorth have given notice in writing at my office of their intention to proceed with their application for Letters Patent for the said Invention, and that I have appointed FRIDAY, the eleventh day of MAY next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, at my office, to hear and consider the said application and all objections thereto; and I do hereby require all persons having an interest in opposing the grant of such Letters Patent to leave, on or before the seventh day of May next, at my office in Wellington, particulars in writing of their objections to the said application, otherwise they will be precluded from urging the same.
