WELLINGTON STEAM LAUNDRY.
TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —Kindly allow me a space in your columns to inform " Passer-by " that his statement which appeared in the New Zealand Times of the 15th instant relative to the Wellington Steam Laundry is utterly untrue. In the first place, he states we have constructed or are constructing a branch drain from front of laundry to about fifty yards below it to carry off our dirty soapsuds. The said culvert is not on our premises, and is nearly three hundred feet from our laundry, and is being made for the convenience of Mrs. Hall to give her access to her dwelling. He also states we use this culvert to discharge our greasy soapsuds in. Allow me to inform " Passer-by" that this statement is utterly untrue, as the soapsuds, after going into a receiver, are disinfected, the water flowing off, and the sediment being
converted into manure. : We invite inspection, then the truthfulness of , th > " Pass »->y V information can, be tested.—l am, &c, -.' .....,- Geo. .Henry Baylis. Wellington Steam Laundry, Jan.. 16.
