Auckland, Emdavau, Honolulu; and San * Francisco. : f ■ : ; The three-masted schooner May is now overdue here from Foochow and Hongkong, with the following cargo, viz::—9s chests tea, 3350 half do do, 6300 boxes do, ICO chests sago, 200 cases preserves, 650 rolls matting, 15 cases sundries, and 400 bags rice. ■ The schooner Kaikoura. for Kaikoura and Waipapa, and ketch Falcon, for Blenheim, sailed yesterday. ~ The p.s. Luna left here yesterday morning to survey the shoal Reported as existing in. the Strait by Pilot Holmes. It was found this side of Baring Head, about.a quarter of a mile from shore,, On going over it, it was found to measure a quarter of a mile in length, running parallel:with the coast line, and on soundings being taken, four fathom was the 'least depth found at low water spring tides. The sea breaks over it in heavy weather, but Captain Johnston, who conducted the survey, states that it is out of the course of vessels unless they keep very close in-shore.
