fBSUIBR'S SPECIAL TO PRESS AGENCY./ Sydney, Wednesday. The steamer Dandenong,, from Sydney to Melbourne, was totally lost off Jervis Bay. Twenty-eight passengers and the crew arrived at Newcastle to-day in a barque. Seventeen persons were drowned in going from the Dandenong to- the barque Alfred William at 9 o'clock on Monday night. The lights of the Dandenong were seen to disappear, and she is supposed to have foundered, with forty persons aboard. Melbourne, Wednesday.

There was a collision between the Hero and schooner Eva yesterday in the harbor. Thelatter was much injured; the former uninjured.
