CHESS MATCH.
The play in the match House of Representatives v. members of the Wellington Chess Club was resumed in the Club room on Saturday night. The following games were played : Ballnnco v. Benbow ; winner. Benbow (Club) Greenwood v. Reeves ; winner, Greenwood (H.R.)
There have been twenty-two games played. of which the H.R. have won twelve, the Club eight, and two have been drawn. There are still three games to play to conclude the match, and these will be :
Jlees v. Benbow Rees v. Reeve 3 Eees v. Orbell
Even should the Club win all three of these, they would yet lose the match by one game. Play will be resumed on Saturday evening next.
