Public NoticesnpE AKO MUNICIPAL ELECTION. Mr. MOELLER'S Committee will MEET at the VICTORIA HOTEL, Abel Smithstreet,, on WEDNESDAY EVENING, the 6th inst., at 8 o'clock. The attendance of ratepayers who desire to join the Committee is respectfully requested. TESTIMONIAL TO CAPT. KENNEDY and Officers of the ship Dunbritton. Sir,—Will you kindly allow us, the passengers on board the ship Dunbritton, ju*t anchored here, a little space in your most esteemed paper, for the purpose of affording a public attestation of our deep gratitude towards the captain aiid officers of the ship, who throughout the voyage have bestowed upon us unceasing care and kind attention. On the 7th of May the pilot left us on the shore of England, and we have taken the pilot here this very day, having thus accomplished in 88 day* a successful passage, for which we are thankful, and feel much indebted to the experience and talent of the commander of the ship, Capt. Wm. Kennedy, of Creenock, and to that of the first mate, Mr. Matthew Emmett; the second mate, Mr. Charles Hodge ; ■ nd the third mate, Mr. William Clift. Of course we are not qualified to'express an opinion on the technical capacity of the officers on board the ship, still what we were able to appreciate well was their constant zeal and unremitting care in the discharge of their duty—in fact, did we not see our gallant captain on deck at any time of day or night, and hardly could we imagine when or where he allowed himself a short rest. Harmony and affectionate gratitude have been, and are, the universal feeling of all, passengers and crew, towards the captain and officers of the Dunbritton. It is also our duty to express no less warm thanks and gratitude to our medical officer, Mr. J. S. Hayes, M.D., &c, who attended his patients on board with the utmost care and success, —We are, sir, yours very truly,— A. T,ewy, L.L.8., L. Houusell, Emilie Johnand family, Philip S.
