CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —Allow me to correct an important tyyographioal error in your report of my remarks at the last meeting of the Education Board. I did not say that I thought it proper, but “ improper,” that the Provincial Executive should make the grant in question of its own accord. I would take this opportunity of making a less important correction, with which otherwise I would not have troubled you; I did not say that Mr. George Hunter had most strongly insisted at the late general election that there should be no grants of money for strictly denominational education, but that his supporters had most strongly insisted on that view, that he had adopted it, and had been elected on that platform.—l am, &c., W. Gisborne. Wellington, July 31.
