THE EARTHQUAKE.
In supplement of what appears elsewhere with regard to the shock of earthquake yesterday morning, we publish the following telegrams received by Captain Edwin in reference to the matter : Taupq, 4.14 a.m.—Heavy earthquake, apparently from south-west. Gisborne, 4.15. —Severe shook. Wanganui, 4.15.—M0at severe shock for years, with very peculiar motion ; seemed to converge and diverge with north and south direction. Castle Point, 4.15.—Tw0 severe shocks. Obonake, 4.ls.—Severe shock from the eastward to west. Lasted about threequarters of a minute. Blenheim. —Shortly after 4 a.m. prolonged shock from east to weet. Napier, 4.14. —Sharp shock north-east to south-west. Kaikouea. —Slight earthquake, early. Lyttelton.—Only states earthquake reported. Direction not noted at Castle Point, and no reply yet from Gisborne.
