City of San Francisco, Captain Waddell, anchored in our harbor at 2 p.m. yesterday. She left Port Chalmers at 7.30 p.m. on the 28th, and arrived in Lyttelton on Thursday at 2.30 p.m.; left again at 6 p.m. same day, and arrived here as above. Had strong N.E. wind with very thick weather from Lyttelton till arrival. At 4.40 p.m. yesterday she moved cut of our harbor, with the 'Frisco mail on board, for Napier, Auckland, Kandavau, Honolulu, and ’Frisco. The s.s. Matau, Captain Urquhart, left Lyttelton at 7 p.m. on Thursday, and arrived in South Bay, Kaikoura, at 9.35 a.m. on Friday, landed passengers and mails, but owing to the heavy sea running was *' tmableTo'gSrais cargo ashore: left for Wellington at II 30 a m. same day, passed Cape Campbell at 5.30 p.m.. made the Heads at 8.30, and arrived alongside the Queen's wharf at 9.15 o’clock last night. Ex* perienced fresh N.E. wind from Lyttelton to Kaikoura thence till arrival a S.S.E. breeze, accompanied with light rain. The Matau will leave for Foxton tos.s. Tui will come round from Evans Bay this morning. She is advertised to sail lor Westport, Greymouth, and Hokitika this evening. The s.s. Taupo should arrive here from Northern ports this forenoon. Her date of sailing has been altered from 2 p.m. to-day till 3 o’clock on Sunday afternoon. The s.s. :Hawea sailed from Chalmers for Lyttelton yesterday afternoon. She will arrive at the latter port this forenoon, and leave again in the afternoon, arriving here on Sunday morning. She will sail for Southern ports at noon on Monday. The a.a. Stormbird, Captain Doile, left Wanganui at 3.30 a.m. yesterday, and crossed the bar at 4.45. Experienced light N.E. winds till arrival in harbor at 4pm yesterday. Passed the Manawatu off Sinclair Head.' The Stormbird will leave again for Wanganui to-day. . - The s.s. Jane Douglas, Captain Frazer, arrived here yesterday morning at half-past two o'clock. She loft Napier on Wednesday at 9 p.m.; had light M.W. winds to Cape Palliser; thence fresh N. VV. Her cargo consisted of 150 casks tallow, consigned to Messrs. Levin and Co. We understand the Jane Douglas will be taken up at Messrs. Coffey’s and Dixon's slips, for the purpose of having her bottom cleaned and painted. The Kiwi will sail for Napier to-day at 2 p.m. 1 The schooner Aurora made an attempt to get away for Havelock yesterday afternoon, but the wind fall-.. ing light, she came to an anchor off the wharf.
