The Customs revenue collected at the port of Wellington yesterday was as follows • _P » rl £ s. a.

The Customs duties received at this port for the •week ending November 4, 1875, were as under: —

Owing to the stormy weather that has prevailed dnriov the past week trade has been unusually flat for the firet week in the month, and we hear of no special transactions in imported goods requiring comment, nor is there any variation in quotations to report. Stocks continue heavy, and prices generally have a downward tendency. .. . . . , Produce butter, in kegs, is comparatively neglected, prime new cure being quoted at 10a. to 11a. per lb. ; old, of fair quality, has been quitted at 7*d. per lb. Cheese continues scarce, and in good demand at lid. per lb. for sound Canterbury make. Bacon and hams are wanted, good samples being readily taken up ; Is. to Is. 4d. for cloth-packed; a shipment cured by Garforth and Lee, of Christchurch, got up with more than ordinary care, was readily quitted at those figures. Oats are in full supply at unaltered rates, which barely afford a freight. We report a sale of 200 sacks of a superior sample of milling oats at 3s. 3d. per bushel, but ordinary feeding sorts do not command more than 3s. to 3s. 2d. Bran overstocked; sales at 10d. to lid. per bushels. Flour has moved off fairly at former rates, which continue unaltered at £lO 16s. to £ll 10s. per ton, according to parcel, for Canterbury am* Oarnaru sorts. Timber, heavy stocks: sales at 10s. 6d. tolled, per 100 ft. for builders’ lots. At James Smith s extensive auction sale of groceries, wines, spirits, &c., yesterday, there was a large attendance of buyers, and the following prices were realised: —250 boxes new season’s teas, at Is. Bid. to 2s per lb • 50 hf-chests do. Is. 7sd. to 2s. Sid.; 130 hf-chosts last season’s d0,.1s 3|d. to,2a. ; 100 boxes sperm candles at 10i<L; 2nd white sugar, £43105. per ton ; LG., £43 • qr-sardlnes, ss. to 6s. Id.; halves do, 95.; 200 cases jDevoe’s kerosene, Is. Ojd. to Is. lOd. per gal.; American salmon, 7s. 7d. per doz.; 5 cases candied peel. Is.
