Fbiday, October 1. (Before J. C. Crawford, Esq., R.M.) DRUNKENNESS. Edward Wringe was charged by the chief officer of the barque Dilawur with drunkenness and insubordinate conduct, who deposed that he was therefore under the necessity of handing the prisoner over to the police. The Bench fined the prisoner 405., or in default seven days’ hard labor. James McCarthy, charged with being drunk and incapable, was dismissed with a cauticMorris Kelleher was convicted o |. drunk while in charge -J t ail(jl . fia aud of lighting in the public streets. The Bench inflicted a fine of 40a., or in default seven days’ hard labor. Breach of licensing act. William Ebden, charged with a breach of the Licensing Act, was remanded till next day. civil cases. if. Reid sued J. McDonald for £2 for rent. Thedefendantpaid part into court, and produced a receipt for the balance, given by plaintiff’s partner. The plaintiff asked for an adjournment for a week, to enable him to bring up his partner as a witness. The Bench adjourned the case accordingly. There were two other cases, of no special interest. Judgment for the amount claimed was given in one, with costs. The other case was adjourned.
