After she has landed her passengers, who are mostly immigrants, she will proceed to Wellington. where she will discharge her cargo. The s.s. Egmoni, that left for Patea on Thursday, had to put back. She got as far as Cape Terawiti, where Hie wind blew a strong N. W. gal®- . A barque was signalled yesterday wbicb is supposed to be the Australind, from Newcastle. . The ketch Hunter, John Hassell, master, arrived in port yesterday afternoon at half-past two o’clock from Wanganui, after a smart run of twenty-seven k'jfis expected that the steam lighter Sir Donald will be launched this afternoon. She has been on Mr. Meech’s slip for the last few weeks, and has received from him a thorough overhaul. Her propeller has been enlarged so as to increase her speed by a knot and a half. Her engines have also been refitted. The repairs to her engines have been effected by MrE. W. Mills She will proceed to Napier at an early date.
