The Thames Investment Company's report on July 30, showed that out of all their.interests on the goldfields only £423 had been received in dividends, while the expenditure, calls, new investments, &c., exceed £9OOO. The overdraft at the bank is £SOOO. Grahajistown, Saturday, July 31. Gold returns for week, 23780za. , Long Drive contributed 580ozs. as result of month's work. Bank of New Zealand shipped 42800z5. this week, making total about 28,0000z5. during last four months. The Cure has given 12250z5. of gold from five weeks' crushing. A dividend is declared. The gold returns for July were 82700z5. 16dwts. for Hauraki, and 1300ozs. for Coromandel. Westport, Tuesday, August 3. ■ The Halcyon Company's first crushing of 150 tons yielded 90 ounces 8 dwts. 6 grains—average, 12 dwts. 1 grain per ton. The result is disappointing, but confidence in' the mine is unabated.
