Coffee .. .. 14 12 6 Sugar .. .. 122 13 101 £2036 8 0 The import trade of the past week has been excessively doll, and no sales of any importance are reported. Prices continue low for most descriptions of imported goods, stocks being above the average, but it is almost impossible to give quotations, as buyers limit their purchases to actual wants and to small parcels, while no doubt a considerable concession would be made for a heavy line. Brandies continue In fair demand at 30s. for Martell's case and 255. for Bisquit Dubonche, there being no stock of Hennessy'a case in this market. Corrugated iron is in inquiry, the stock on hand not being beyond the increasing emadnd for this staple. [Best brands are quoted at £34 to £35 per ton. Generally, stocks of imported goods are heavy, and the arrival yesterday of the Teviotdale with "a full cargo, and the expected arrival of the Bodney and other English ships now due or overdue will not tend to improve matters, although a fair and active trade may be looked for, both in town and with the ontports. In produce prices rule much the same as last week's rates. Keg butter, lid. to 12d per lb, with no demand ; Port Cooper cheese, very scarce, and worth lid. per lb.; bacon and hams, lid to 16d.; Canterbury flour dull, sales at £llss. for sacks in bakers", parcels ; Oatnaru flour is quoted at 20a. per ton higher; maize, N.Z., in fair demand at 63 per bushel; oats, heavy stocks, sales at 3s. od. per bushel; potatoes, scarce and wanted, worth £6 to £Blos. per ton.
