The import trade has been dull during the past week, and as stocks are heavy, prices continue low, with little or no alteration from last report. Brandies are more inquired for, Hcnnesey's case being totally absent from stock, and quoted nominally at 255. to 405.; Kartell's case is worth 31s. to 325.; bulk, Bs. 3d. to 9s. Other brands are in improved inquiry. Kerosene is overstocked and difficult to move. We hear of a line of 280 cases at Is. 9Jd. d.p. for diamond brand, but quotations are a shade higher. Sugar is unaltered. In colonial produce, butter in kegs is quite neglects' j 9 notats °M of prime cure are not higher than lOd. to lid. per lb. Cheese very scarce, and worth lid. per lb. Bacon and hams in moderate supply at Is. to Is. 2d. per lb. for a good sample. Hour, unaltered; Canterbury, £11103.; Oamaru, £l2 per ton for sacks. Oat 3, heavy stocks at 3s. 2d. to 3s. W. per bushel. Malting barley in demand at sa. Cd. Fowlb feed, 4s. 2d. to As. 6d. per bushel Bran 14d to lod. per bushel. Sharps, 7s. Cd. per lOOlbs. Potatoes are in active demand at £0 per ton. Timber, tall stocks at former rates.
