RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Tuesday, August 3. (Before J. 0. Crawford, Esq., R.M.) DKUNKENNESS. Charles Cullender was charged with having been drunk and disorderly, and pleaded guilty. He was fined 10s. and costs, or the usual alternative. William Brothers was charged with a similar offence. He had resisted the police and damaged a uniform, for which he was made to pay £l, and to enable him to do this, his Worship imposed the mitigated penalty of ss. HOUSE STEALING CASE. George Moffitt was brought up on remand charged with horse stealing. The case had been adjourned for the production of important evidence in addition to that already given. Rayner Greeks deposed that he saw prisoner take away the horse from the corner opposite Lansdon’s publiohouse and put it in the stable. He afterwards came back with a swag, mounted the horse, and rode away. Witness had subsequently learned that the horse belonged to Mr. Prouse. The depositions having been read over, and the usual caution administered, His Worship committed prisoner to take his trial at the next sittings of the Supreme Court, to bo held in October. CIVIL CASES. Judgments for Plaintiffs.—ln the two following cases judgments were given for plaintiffs: — Logan v. Bacon— Claim, £1 ; costs, 10s. Creamer v. Connor—Claim, £1 Ss. fid.; costs, £1 12s. '
