WELLINGTON JOCKEY CLUB.
TO THE EDITOR OF THJt NEW ZEALAXB TIMES. Sib,—lf any one wants to know how much good tho Wellington Jockey Club are effecting, they mnst go into the country districts, for it is there, even more than in this city, that their endeavors aio esteemed and value. As an old settler I have often felt the dulness that will sometimes occur when residing in the bush, and well know how much that 13 relieved by having a hoise to get fit for the Wellington races. Up and out at Ave to sweat, and open pipes, &c, is a constant source of interest and amusement to oneself and family. I repeat, the endeavors of the club to make their races first-rate in quality are more appreciated than some who are resident in thia city may tuppose.—l am, &c, Old Cousin? Settler.
