PORT CHALMERS, Monday. Arrived :—Annie Houlan, schooner, from Christiania, 10th December. Met with heavy weather in North Sea. Lost stayboom and topsail; put into Leith to replace them ; left again on the 30th January. "Went south about, and cleared the English Channel on 7th February. Experienced fine weather, and put into the Cape of Good Hope for water. Encountered very-heavy gale in the Southern Ocean, and made the Solanders on the 20th inst. Since then has been knocked about the coast by light weather. She brings a cargo of lumber, consigned to Guthrie and Larnach. Schooner Christina, from Auckland and Grahamstown. Brigantine Camille, from Hobarton, 12th June. Sailed : The s.s. Ladybird, for the North. NELSON, Monday. Arrived : Taranaki, s.s., from the North. PICTON, Monday. Aivrived : On Sunday, the s.s. Ino, from Wellington. . * ' LYTTELTON, Monday. The Hawea was visited by crowds of people to-day. The saloon is splendidly fitted. She leaves for the North to-morrow, with a full cargo. THE BLUFF, Monday. Sailed, 5 p.m.: Alhambra, for Melbourne. The barque Lady Franklin, Captain Hurley, reports clearing Port Phillip Heads on the evening of the Ist June, and on the following day encountered a very heavy easterly gale, which lasted until the 10th ; from thence, until sighting Stephens Island on the 23rd, had moderate westerly winds ; from Stephens Island tiU arriving at the Heads on Sunday evening last, experienced fresh S.E. winds and fine weather. It will be seen that the Lady Franklin's protracted passage of twenty-six days has been caused by her having to. contend with strong head winds during the ■first ten days after leaving Melbourne. She has about 000 tons of general cargo, consisting of sugar, flour, &c, and comes consigned to Mr. James O'Shea. The Lady Franklin has hauled into No. 5 berth, and will commence discharging this morning. The s.s. Phcebe, Captain Worsp, arrived from the South early yesterday morning,' with several passengers and a small cargo of imports for here. She left Port Chalmers at 1.30 p.m. on the 25th, arriving at Lyttelton at 10 a.m. on the 2Gth. Sailed from Lyttelton at 10 a.m. on the 27th, and arrived alongside the Queen's Wharf at 8 a.m. on the 28th. Experienced light airs up to Cape Campbell, from thence to the Heads had strong northerly winds. "We have to thank the first officer for the report of her passage. The Phcebe sails for the Worth at noon this day. The s.s. Rangatira arrived from the East Coast yesterday afternoon, with a large complement of passengers. She left the Spit at 11 a.m. on the 27th, had strong head winds and heavy sea to Castle Point, from thence moderate weather till arrival in harbor at 1.15 p.m. yesterday. The ketch Hunter arrived yesterday morning from Motueka, with a cargo of potatoes. The schooner Rose of Eden arrived from Peloms Sound yesterday, with a cargo of timber consigned to Mr. Compton. The s.s. Otago steamed from the wharf shortly after noon yesterday, for Melbourne via Hokitika. The s.s. Easby took her departure for Southern Torts yesterday afternoon, with the remainder of her original cargo from Sydney and Newcastle. She also took a few exports and two passengers. The s.s. Stormbird sailed at noon yesterday for Wanganui. The schooner Strathnaver cleared outwards, in ballast, for Picton yesterday. The smart brig Robin Hood is advertised to sail for Newcastle direct on Wednesday next. She has good accommodation for passengers.
