Mails close at the Chief Post Office,'Wellington, as follows: For Picton, Nelson, New Plymouth, and Manukau, per s.s. Wellington, on Saturday, at 11 a.ra. For Sandwich Islands, America, the West Indies, Europe, &c., via San Francisco, per s.s. Phcebe, on Tuesday, at 10 a.m. Money orders and registered letters on previous day at 6 p.m. For Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and Bluff, per s.s. Ladybird, on Saturday, at 1 p.m. For Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and Bluff, per s.s. Star of the South, this day, at 1 p m. For Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, Bluff, Australia, and Europe via Suez (for correspondence specially addressed), India, China, &c., per s.s. Albion, this day, at 1 p.m. Edward D. Burrs, Chief Postmaster. The steamer Hero is expected to leave Auckland at noon (Friday) this day. Telegrams for the Australian Colonies or Europe, via Java cable, will be received at the Wellington Telegraph Office for transmission to Auckland up till 11 a.m. this day (Friday.)
