AUCKLAND, Monday. The Ladybird has arrived in the Manukau. She sails for the South on "Wednesday.
The ketch Hunter arrived yesterday from Rangitikei and Motueka, with a cargo of potatoes. The fine topsail schooner "Wanganui, belonging to Dunedin, arrived yesterday from Timaru, which port she left on the 22nd nit. She had light liable winds until, arriving. off the Kaikonras on Tuesday night, when-she met a strong southerly gale, compelling her to run into Port Underwood for shelter. Remained there until Sunday morning, and arrived as above. , . Mr. Pearce’s smart fore-and-aft schooner Aurora ■arrived yesterday morning from Havelock, 'with a small consignment of wool and hides. Captam RoraerU reports having had strong S.W. winds on the East Coast. . , The ketch Falcon and the schooner XXX cleared at the Customs yesterday for Blenheim. The barque Kingdon of Italy commenced discharging her cargo yesterday, , , The p.s. Manawatu left for Wanganui at noon yes terday,. carrying a number of passengers. She also conveyed GOJ immigrants, cx Hindostan. . The .Egmont sailed for Foxton and Rangitikei yesterday at 11 p.m. with a large general cargo. The s.s. Napier took her departure for Wanganui last evening, with a large general cargo and several passengers. . , The Kangatira came off the Patent Slip last evening, and was moored alongside the s.s. Southern Cross. Since she has been on the slip her hull has been cleaned and painted, her internal fittings have also received a good coat of paint, and now she presents the appearance of a new vessel. . . • The Southern Cross did not go on the Patent Slip, partly in consequence of the Kangatira being there, and 'partly bccanse she is due at Napier about the Ist of the month, by the terms of her charter. On her next trip to this port, however, she will receive an overhaul, which she needs very much, as her bottom is very dirty. The Star of the South, which is due here to-day, will go on the slip before proceeding to Dunedin. . „ ... p The s.s. Phoebe arrived yesterday at 0 a.m., with the San Francisco mail, after a quick run of 07 hours, stoppages and all included. She left Onphunga at 2 p.m. on Friday, and arrived at Taranaki at daylight on Saturday morning. Sailed again at 8 a.m., and arrived at Nelson at 11.30 p.m. same night. -Left Nelson at 2.15 p.m. on Sunday, arriving at Picton at 10.45 p.m. Left Picton at 3 a.m. yesterday, and came alongside the wharf at 9 a.m. Experienced light easterly winds and fine weather to Nelson and the French Pass, thence astrong S.E. breeze and dense fog until clearing Tory. Channel. The Phcebo sailed punctually at 4 p.m. yesterday for Southern Ports. The s.s- Taranaki steamed for Northern Ports at midnight yesterday, taking a number of passengers and a general cargo. The s.s. Otago took her departure for Melbourne, via The Bluff, at noon yesterday.
