THE NEW ZEALAND TITANIC STEEL AND IRON COMPANY A Special General Meeting of the Shareholders of the above company will be held at the Side-room of the Odd Fellows' Hall, Lambton-quay, on WEDNESDAY, the 26th MAY, 1875, at 7.30 p.m., to confirm the following alterations in the Articles of Association, as passed at a special general meeting of the shareholders held in the same place, on the 26th day of April last, viz.— Ist. To alter Regulation No. 31, so as to read as follows :—"No business shall be transacted at any meeting except the declaration of a dividend, unless a quorum of shareholders is present at the commencement of such business; and such quorum shall be ascertained as follows : —that is to say —if the shareholders belonging to the company at the time of the meeting do not exceed ten in number, the quorum shall be five ; if they exceed ten, there shall be added to the above quorum one for every ten additional shareholders up to fifty, and one for every twenty additional shareholders after fifty; with this limitation, that no quorum shall in any case exceed twenty." 2nd. To add as Regulation No. 50 A. the following : —" The Directors shall have power to appoint one of their number to be Managing Director, and to pay him such salary as they shall think fit." 3rd. An EXAMINATION of Candidates for first, second, or third class Certificates, of Candidates for the office of Pupil Teacher, and of all Pupil Teachers, will be held in the Thomdon School, Wellington; the Grammar School, Wanganui; the Marton School; and the Greytown School, on THURSDAY and FRIDAY, the Ist and 2nd days of July next. There will be two papers each day, commencing at 10 turn, and 2 p.m. ■ Teachers applying for appointments under the Board, or Candidates for third-class Certificates, can attend without formal application. Candidates for first or second class Certificates must send in at once a list of the subjects selected from those set forth in the Regulations of the Board.
