The Auckland Steam Packet Company having been in existence now nearly three years, and from the success which has attended its operations up to the present time, the Directors are of opinion that the company is now thoroughly established. The whole of the unallotted shares having been disposed of at a premium of ten shillings, and promise of support having been obtained from several quarters, a fitting opportunity now presents itself to extend the company. No better proof can be given of the company’s success than the fact that having started with one steamer only, they have been enabled, with a small paid-up capital, to purchase three other steamers of the most economical class, in every respect well suited for the trades,in which they are employed, and during the last eighteen months have paid dividends at the rate of 10 per cent, per annum, besides having made accumulated profits to the extent of over £7OOO. To enable the company to pay cash for the purchase of new steamers, it is proposed to increase the capital of the company to £150,000, by the issue of 10,000 new shares of ten pounds each ; four pounds paid up at a premium of ten shillings per share, which premium will be carried to the general reserve fund of the company, for the benefit of both old and new shareholders. It is contemplated to offer the shares as follows :—One pound on -.application, one pound on allotment, one pointEl three months, after allotment, and one pound ten shillings six months after allotment; or applicants can pay in full at once, and receive scrip entitling them to dividends. For the Board of Directors, WILLIAM LODDEE, Manager and Engineer, Auckland Steam Packet Company. For further particulars and forms of application apply to W. BISHOP, ' Agent. Eor sale or to let.
