CORRECTION.
Sir, —Permit me to correct certain alterations made in my letter concerning Sir George Grey’s pamphlet on the Irish question, some of which make me write nonsense, while one of them takes the form of an ungracious affront to the writer of that pamphlet. “•Some might call it a secular dream"; read, a “ Hecuba dream," “Granted, that confiscation was a mistake, or the Machiavelian dictum read, “on," “ Ho (Sir George) would deserve the sincere thanks of many, his own included, worthless though they bS"; read, “my own.” “ My division of questions into Imperial and social must, in certain cases, bo arbitrary"; read, “The division," and, for social, “local." In the statement of the poll at Newark there is a misprint among the figures. For “ Bristowe (liberal), 227"; read, “827." Pardon my troubling you, but the errors arc material.—l am, &c., Hcgii Carleton. 15th March.
