THE COUNCIL OF NICE.
TO THE EDITOR. ■ Sib,—As inexact reference has been, made to the "decrees of the Council of Nice on the doctrine of The Trinity, I enclose the : words used by the Council. It will be seen that it is carefully asserted that the Council did not teach any new doctrine, but the old ifaith of the Church:—"This is the Apostolic and blameless faith of the Church; which faith, ultimately derived from the Lord Himself through the Apostles, and handed down from our forefathers to their successors, the .Church religiously preserves and maintains the same both now and for ever; inasmuch as the Lord said to the disciples, 'Go and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.'" Dean Faber *' On the Apostolicity of Trinitarianism," vol. i. p. 21—1 am, &c, A. Stock. Wellington, February 17.
