POUNDERS OF THE COLONY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sm, —Whether by a slip of my pen or by a printer’s-, error I know not, I am made, in the end of my letter to you on this subject, published this morning, to urge the immediate formation of a “provincial” committee for the promotion of the end in view. Nothing could be further from my thoughts. This is essentially a colonial question. Under the conditions proposed by me, there isnopartofNew Zealand in which there will not be found many claimants to the honor of belonging to “ The Founders Society," and to the substantial recognition of their claim. A “provisional" committee is what I intended to write : one ot' its first objects would be to establish correspondence between ihe centre of systematic colonisation and all the “ outer centres.”- -I am, &c., E. Jernikoiiam Wakefield. February 3.
