Siia,—l notice in this morning's issue of your paper, «C' the Opera Company playing the Bohemian Girl In Christchurch, "hundreds were unable to gain admission," perhaps the following maybe worth knowing concerning that opera :—" The hundreth representation was given on November, 1844, and a piece of plate, value two hundred guineas, was presented to Mr. Balfe, on the stage of 'Old Drury,'in December, and Mr. Buhn gave an entertainment to his company, and a ' chosen band' of choice spirits in commemoration of the rare, if not unprecedented,: event of an English opera having been represented one hundred times in: one season." Thirty years ago, and still hundreds are turned away from the. doors at the antipodes. So much for the Bohemian Girl—one of the grandest of operas.—l am, &0., • Musicus. November 20th. ..
