NEW ZEALAND SPECTATOR AND Cook's Strait Guardian. Saturday, December 10, 1853.

The length of our report of the proceedings in Council obliges us to defer for the present any observations we might wish to make on subjects connected with them. Our readers will observe that though the debates have been important in many respects, very little business has been done. The real business of the session, the consideration of the Estimates, about which the settlers are most anxious, has not yet begun, though an intimation was given yesterday that the Estimates would be laid before the. Council in the course of next" week. When these are brought forward, as it is now high time they should be, we shall be better able to discuss the plans and policy of the Provincial Government.
